L'Oreal 24 Hr Infallible Eyeshadow Swatches

I picked up these shadows from Rite Aid the other day and was excited when I came upon them by accident because I've been reading how these are the drugstore's answer to Armani Eyes to Kill. At $7.95 each they are 1/4 of the price of the high end version. I personally have not tried the Armani Eyes to Kill but have read nothing but good reviews about their texture etc. I do hope to purchase some of the ETK in the future. I am usually let down whenever I buy drugstore products but I was seriously impressed with the textures on these eyeshadows. They are super smooth and buttery on first swipe and have the feel of a higher end eyeshadow.
They almost feel like cream shadows but they are in fact a buttery powder. Pigmentation is excellent on these as well. I picked up three shades: Amber Rush, Perpetual Purple and Bronzed Taupe. Amber Rush is a metallic champagne gold, Perpetual Purple is a metallicy purple with hints of blue and Bronzed Taupe is a metallic taupe color. I am definitely, going to go out and try to pick up some more shades.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm Swatches

Plush Plum, Nourishing Nude
Following in Revlon's Lip Butter steps, L'Oreal has come out with their version of Lip Butters in their Colour Riche Line simply called Balm. These lip products are supposed to keep lips moisturized while leaving a little bit of color behind. I decided to pick up two of the colors from the line, Plush Plum and Nourishing Nude. Nourishing Nude does not really leave any color behind on your lips it basically leaves a nice shine as if you were wearing a lip balm which I guess is why they decided to name them balms. Plush Plum does leave behind more color than Nourishing Nude but it still has a balm like effect. I can't really comment on whether they do moisturize you lips as I have not worn them long enough to say that. I will say that the lip butter that I have is more pigmented.

Tarte Soft & Smokey Collection

All of the items in the collection
I love buying value kits whenever I'm looking to try out products from a brand I don't really know but really want to try. A couple of months ago they had this set at Ulta for $39 so I decided to scoop it up. It really is a great deal because you are getting full sized products and the blush alone retails for $25. The quad is a nice neutral quad composed of 3 shimmery and 1 matte shade. The from top left to bottom there is a shimmery beige shade, a light taupe brown, a darker shimmery brown and a dark matte brown. The texture on these was good except for the matte brown which was a bit sheer. The blush is a pretty peachy pink with a gold sheen. What I didn't like about the blush was how frosty it is but it is a beautiful color. I personally don't like blushes that are shimmery but it is good for those that do. The texture on the blush was very smooth however. I was very impressed with how smooth and dark the aqua gel liner is. The lipgloss is also nice but I don't usually wear lip products. It doesnt feel too sticky or heavy on the lips. The brushes were also nice, I really liked the pencil brush side because it is good for adding a darker color to the outer v. I do wish that they had included two separate mini brushes instead of make the brush dual sided. Overall this is a great kit and I would recommend it if you can still find it.

Work EOTD

This is a look I did the other day when I went to work using the UD 15th Anniversary Palette I am wearing Flow on the eyelid and MIA in the outer corner. The brown actually looks darker in real life in the crease I am wearing MAC wedge and MAC Brule to highlight. I am using an Inglot cream liner and am wearing Prestige My Blackest Lashes on my lashes.

L'Oreal Sentimental Splendor

L'Oreal's Color of Hope Quad is an okay pink quad. It consists of a very light sort of brown with hints of pink, a pale pink, a deep matte purple and a nice duochrome brown. The brown color is similar to MAC's club although I wouldn't call it an exact dupe. The colors are a little on the sheer side so you do have to pack them on some. Overall it's on okay quad in nothing spectacular. I prefer Wet n Wild eyeshadows in terms of pigmentation. I do like how it looks once applied on the lids though but you need to use some sort of primer or base so the colors stand out more. In the picture the quad is heavily swatched over MAC's Painterly Paint Pot.
